VIP Aircraft Completion

Since the advent of the first Boeing BBJ came the evolution of the process called VIP completions, which is a discipline consisting of art, engineering, craftsmanship and "Voodoo" aka. certification.

The art portion takes place soon after the aircraft delivery slot is determined and a highly talented designer begins working on concepts for the interior and exterior. Sounds like an easy enough task, just call that person who did my neighbors house or yacht. Although on the surface that may seem like a good idea, but the truth is you need a designer who has tackled a BBJ or ACJ successfully. Using someone who is experienced will help you avoid cost and schedule overruns. A true VVIP Aircraft designer knows the airframe and where the major impact of a design element could interfere with primary aircraft systems. Remember an experienced designer will not only lead you through the feel of the textiles, but will ensure the space suites your tastes, needs and can be accomplished by the artisans within the completion network. A design can look good on paper, but it still has to fit within the confines of a pressurized tube suspended at 45,000 feet and adhere to the applicable regulations for the registering authority.
